About MTI Radiocomp:

Radiocomp is a competence center in the MTI group doing Software, FPGA and DVT testing of Radio Head. They work closely with their sister sites in California and Taiwan and with some of the very largest players in the 5G industry. The work is internationally organized, with close coordination between MTI sites and with customers located worldwide.


MTI Radiocomp – located in Hillerød - is R&D site acting as competence center within MTI for mobile baseband processing, radio SW development and radio conformance testing.

The job and team:

As senior software engineer you will have a key position in the SW development team, that develops everything for Radio Head from management systems to low-level drivers for 5G mobile radio infrastructure deployments worldwide.

You will take an active role in maintaining MTI’s position as a market leader within mobile solutions, and become a significant influencer in an energetic, engaged and professional team.


The team works with legacy tier-1 integrators as well as with some of the most interesting newcomers in the mobile industry on development of the newest mobile technologies. MTI develops its own radio heads portfolio that is sold through integrators as well as under own brand. Your work will feed into this development.


You will be working with new technologies to support 5G. MTI support open standards and are currently working to support oRAN. You will be part of the process from architecture to design and on to coding and testing, which also includes participating in reviews of code and design from each other’s, as well reviewing each other’s deliverables.


You will work with managing and implementing the new packet-based cloud RAN implementations, IP solutions, Network security, massive MIMO and more. Through this work you will be influencing the way major operators build networks, as well as how the 5G standards will evolve.


As part of the MTI SW group, you will be designing, developing and implementing oRAN and other control software for Radio Heads used use by either international key players in the industry to include in their SoC’s, or to be used within MTI’s own equipment development. You will be involved in new development, integrations with partners as well as resolving support issues from customers.


You will have multiple roles, both as feature lead in some projects, and in the role of developer in other projects. You will also contribute to design independent if it is as Author of a document or reviewer at a design meeting – the team spend the necessary time discussing how get the right solution the first time.


Main tasks for the team:

  • Work with SW architecture, specifications and coding for embedded systems
    • Design and implement Radio Head management applications
    • Create Interfaces to FPGA / HW and design and develop low-level drivers
  • Work with Hardware, FPGA, System Engineering other teams sw interface
  • Create test environment with scripts and what else is needed.
  • Assist in partner integration and customer support
  • Current Radio heads are using MicroC OS, but knowledge of Linux is also good.
  • Align development process, error handling, release procedures and test with the rest of organization (Globally within MTI)

Technical areas for the team:

  • Coding in C++ and C
  • Protocols: eCPRI, RoE, oRAN, NETCONF, Ethernet, JSON, IP, TCP, UDP, IPv6, DHCP, VLAN
  • Main scripting languages: Python, Perl, Batch and Bash.
  • Main tools: svn, Eclipse SDK, Helix, Coverity, CodeColaborator,
  • Documentation

Job requirements

You have:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s in engineering or similar
  • More than 10 years of working experience as a software developer
  • Several years of experience with embedded software and C++ development
  • Knowledge or experience with software development in C
  • Knowledge about telecommunication systems and technologies, especially within mobile technologies will be an advantage.
